Let your friends know about this position and you can work together! We are looking for students to help usher on campus events during Spring Term. Special Event Staff members are needed for several Special Events which include but are not limited to: Alpine District - High School Graduations - May 21st - 22nd Weekly Tuesday Devotionals Softball / Baseball - dates vary Many other events Pay Rate: $16 per hour Once hired, the opportunity to work additional special events such as Stadium of Fire featuring RASCAL FLATTS at LaVell Edwards Stadium, as well as other events at the Marriott Center, and other campus locations is available. This position involves greeting the public, directing guests, problem-solving and enforcing venue policies. THIS IS A GREAT JOB THAT WILL WORK FOR MOST SCHEDULES.

SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide guests with a positive initial impression of the Marriott Center / LaVell Edwards Stadium by offering superior, individualized service. This impression is created by taking guests' tickets, providing them with accurate event information, assisting them in finding their seat for the event, and assisting them with any issues. This position is expected to work cohesively with all employees of the Marriott Center / LaVell Edwards Stadium in maintaining a superior level of guest service. Assignments at these events may include checking guest's tickets, scanning tickets, handing out programs or giveaway items, escorting patrons to seats, working at stroller check or elevators, etc. GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Greet each guest in a positive and courteous manner; Assist guests as needed; provide directional assistance. Provide accurate knowledge to patrons regarding venue logistics (i.e. location of ticket office, restrooms, concessions, Management Office, etc.), information about the event, etc. Maintain order and ensure adherence to safety rules and assist in providing a safe and secure environment for guests. Be able to take and give directions. Respond quickly and courteously to patrons' needs, questions, comments, or concerns with answers and/or action. Monitor physical surroundings in assigned areas prior to and throughout events for safety, cleanliness and functionality. Attend meetings and job trainings as assigned. Work all assigned shifts and arrive at posted check in time. Work flexible hours, including nights and holidays. Understand and adhere to established policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide assistance with patrons' special needs, such as helping those with wheelchairs. Resolve any seating problems. Respond to emergencies by involving Event Staff Supervisor. Guide patrons to exits or provide other instructions or assistance in case of emergency. Search for lost articles; lost children or parents. Maintain a professional image at all times. Adhere to company dress code, practice good personal hygiene, and maintain proper care of uniform and any equipment or supplies issued. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Stand for long periods. Repeatedly climb stairs. The noise level in the work environment varies. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to outside weather conditions. Compensation Range Actual compensation based on education and experience $12.96 - $16.83 Required Documents: All Staff positions require a resume.
