Company: RDG Global – Apparel Design & Manufacturing

About Us

RDG is a globally recognized apparel design and manufacturing company known for delivering trend-forward, high-quality products across a range of proprietary labels and licensed partnerships. With deep expertise in product development and a commitment to innovation, we bring creativity, precision, and agility to every stage of the apparel lifecycle.

We are currently seeking a Production Colorist to join our dynamic Color Department. This is a key role within our product development pipeline, focused on ensuring color accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all categories and accounts. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with a keen aesthetic sensibility and thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

We're looking for someone who not only brings expertise in color and textiles but also values clear communication, accountability, and teamwork. This is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a collaborative, creative, and performance-driven culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate lab dips, knit downs, strike-offs, handlooms, trims, and bulk submissions to ensure color consistency and quality.
  • Utilize PLM systems to manage submit forms and color tracking as per account requirements.
  • Use light booths and other tools to accurately assess color across multiple materials and fabrications.
  • Provide timely, precise, and actionable feedback on submissions to internal teams and global suppliers.
  • Partner with mills and production teams to guide fabric aesthetics and quality from development through bulk production.
  • Maintain organized records of all approvals, submissions, and comments for future reference and compliance.
  • Assess care label layouts and testing documentation, particularly for non-private label programs.
  • Evaluate Pre-Production (PP) and Top of Production (TOP) samples to confirm adherence to approved standards.
  • Collaborate with overseas QC teams, providing accurate reference samples and clear communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Textiles, Apparel Production, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fabric or garment production with a focus on color.
  • Strong color acuity and an eye for nuance in texture, finish, and material.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with PLM systems strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of sweater, knit, and woven fabric construction and finishing.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Comfortable with extended periods of detailed work and color evaluation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Kohl’s Colorist or similar retailer-specific color certification.

Why Work at RDG?

At RDG, you’ll be part of a team that blends design excellence with disciplined execution. We encourage innovation, support growth, and recognize individual contributions across every level of the organization. This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-driven, color-savvy professional who wants to make an impact within a collaborative and forward-thinking company.

  • Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) Plan
  • Commuter Benefits
  • HSA / FSA Options
  • Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Coverage
  • Generous Paid Time Off: Vacation, Sick, Personal Days
