Samba TV is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director, Product Management for TV Platforms (TVP) to lead the product strategy and execution for our Smart TV OEM partnerships and underlying data capture infrastructure. This role is responsible for device-level technology, consent management and distribution with Smart TV manufacturers, TV operating systems and Chipset designers , increasing data depth , and ensuring the continued flow of high-quality data that is foundational to Samba's business. The Director will function as the primary Product Manager for the TV Platform and will also supervise the Product Manager overseeing Samba's Capture/Harvest architecture and operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define and own the product strategy and roadmap for Samba's TV Platform.
  • Serve as the primary Product Manager for OEM relationships and integrations.
  • Cultivate and evolve strategic partnerships with Smart TV OEMs, moving beyond transactional relationships toward collaborative value exchange models that maximize data collection.
  • Increase data depth from OEM partners, including exploring new data types and gaining approval for features like fingerprinting native apps.
  • Supervise and mentor the Product Manager responsible for the Capture/Harvest architecture, ensuring alignment with TVP and overall data strategy goals.
  • Collaborate closely with the Capture/Harvest PM and Engineering teams to re-architect the capture mechanism for increased accuracy, scalability, comprehensive live event coverage, and automation.
  • Work with Business Development (including EVP Partnerships and CCO) to develop compelling value propositions for OEMs.
  • Ensure seamless integration of data from new and existing OEM partners into Samba's data infrastructure.
  • Contribute to strategic discussions around market reach and necessary TV panel size, working with the BD team.
  • Support international expansion initiatives, preparing the TVP and data pipeline to scale into new regions like India, LATAM, and Japan.
  • Address challenges related to data access from OEMs, including navigating pushback and finding solutions for restrictions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Data Science, and Data Licensing teams to ensure data availability and usability for downstream products and customers.
  • Identify opportunities for leveraging new technologies, such as AI on the edge, in partnership with OEMs.
Qualifications:
  • Experience:
  • Proven track record in product management, preferably within the media, advertising, ad tech, or consumer electronics industries, with a focus on hardware or platform integrations.
  • Experience managing and developing strategic partnerships with major companies, particularly in Asia.
  • Experience managing other product managers or technical teams.
  • Experience working effectively with American companies/startups.
  • Understanding of the TV/CTV ecosystem, OEM landscape, and TV Operating Systems (TVOS).
  • Familiarity with data capture, processing, and data licensing concepts is highly desirable.
  • Attributes:

Samba TV expects to offer a base salary between $120,000 - $130,000,000 per year for roles to be performed in New York or California; actual base salary offered will depend on various factors, including but not limited to, location, experience, and performance. Base salary is just one component of Samba TV’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include bonuses, short-term incentives, and long-term incentives.
