Position Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor is a skilled professional who ensures the continued operation of building maintenance, machinery and equipment in an electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic capacity by completing planned and unplanned maintenance on production, packaging, processing equipment and utility systems. Maintains high standards of company procedures and codes of conduct.

Required Essential Responsibilities (Essential Duties) :

Preventative Maintenance

  • Regularly inspecting equipment and machinery to identify potential issues.
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks like lubrication, filter changes, and adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
  • Developing and implementing preventative maintenance schedules and procedures.

Repair and Troubleshooting

  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other issues with equipment and systems.
  • Disassembling machinery, replacing defective parts, and reassembling equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing issues with various production and facility equipment.

Safety and Compliance

  • Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and procedures.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Following all applicable safety policies and procedures.

Record Keeping

  • Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Tracking inventory of equipment parts and supplies.

Other Duties

  • Assisting with the installation of new equipment and machinery.
  • Working with outside contractors and vendors for specialized repairs.
  • Creating and maintaining building security measures.
  • Communicating with other team members about existing and potential issues.
  • May be required to train other staff on routine maintenance tasks.

Secondary Responsibilities (Non-essential Duties) :

  • Snow removal, salting the sidewalks and keeping doors clear of snow and ice.
  • Assists order packing or material handling duties if called upon.

Education and Your Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • 7+ years of prior maintenance experience repairing various machinery and manufacturing equipment.
  • Proficient with Hydraulics and Electrical components of large machinery, preferably Turret Press, Roll Former, Press Brake and Forklift.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical components.
  • Maintains active and current OSHA-10 or OSHA-30 Certification, helpful but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics.
  • Strong mechanical skills with proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and various tools.
  • Ability to work under stress in evolving/ambiguous situations.
  • Strong math skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior experience working in manufacturing industry, required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of moving, reaching, grasping, making coordinated movements of the hands and arms in the shop/construction/manufacturing and/or various facility locations.
  • Prolonged periods of standing while repairing loud machinery (7 ½ hours per day), wearing all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and following safety protocols.
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, sliding, and continuous moving of heavy materials weighing up to 25 lbs. using all safety and lifting protocols (4 hours per day; occasionally moving or lifting items weighing up to 75 lbs. (2 hours per day)
  • This role requires stooping, bending, squatting, crawling and/or climbing on a daily basis.
  • Fast-paced work environment with the ability to handle pressure effectively. the position demands the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Occasionally ascends/descends a flight of stairs for meetings in the shop, construction or manufacturing areas.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Exposures encountered for loud noises and extreme heat/cold in the shop/construction/manufacturing areas.
