Responsibilities This position involves assisting the project coordinator in overseeing a longitudinal study of eating disorders. Responsibilities include assisting in overseeing laboratory-related tasks including recruitment of study participants and tracking participant responses, scheduling meetings, preparation of study materials, data entry and management, supervising undergraduate research assistants and coordinating schedules of graduate research assistants.
Contributes to maintaining and updating study records, tracking progress in participant recruitment and retention, and reporting progress during regular meetings with the project coordinator.
Responsibilities also include successfully completing human subjects training, training to use on-line scheduling software and other recruitment/tracking software, adherence to the IRB-approved protocol in all interactions with human research participants and in collection, management, and storage of data. Also assists with laboratory-related tasks as needed including ordering supplies, data entry and management, participating in ongoing assessment and lab meetings, and any other supplemental tasks as needed. May do some photocopying, faxing and confirming appointments.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization including one year of experience in a research lab setting; or High school diploma/equivalent and five years of experience in a research lab setting. (Note: post-high school education may substitute for experience at the equivalent rate).
- Experience in a research lab with collecting, entering, and summarizing data
- Experience in collecting and analyzing data and preparing reports
- Ability to organize and maintain accurate research files
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications - Coursework in Psychology or a related health field
- Experience with REDCap, SPSS, Qualtrics and Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Interest in eating disorders research
