Job Description

We're looking for a highly-motivated, smart broadcast journalist with critical thinking and excellent writing, reading, and speaking skills. This person should thrive in a team or independently in a fast-paced and dynamic newsroom. Responsibilities include gathering, writing, editing and preparing content (text and audio), anchoring newscasts as assigned, posting stories on websites, and general newsroom duties. The candidate must be knowledgeable and up-to-date with local and national news and trends, have a clear, pleasant, engaging, and well-controlled voice and anchoring style, excellent reading, contemporary writing, grammar, and pronunciation skills, well-rounded communication skills for conducting interviews, strong attention to detail, proficiency in learning software and web platforms, proficiency in audio media production and broadcast systems, ability to plan and organize, set priorities, use critical thinking skills for story selection, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Spanish is a bonus. The candidate must be able to accept coaching and adapt to energetic and contemporary news style and delivery. Respect for others, ability to work within standardized procedures, problem-solving skills, close attention to detail, and common courtesy in communication are also required.
